Giving Thanks

Ok, yeah, I know it's been a while since I've posted, so... to make it up to you I put extra pictures in this post. Your welcome :~)

It has been quite the busy week this week and I  have loved every minute. Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday. I love all the cooking, and getting together and although I love giving and getting gifts at Christmas, I think it adds a level of pressure that you don't have to worry about on thanksgiving. We spent the night at my parents on Wednesday night. We made pies and some salads on Wednesday and then got up super early on Thursday to start Thanksgiving lunch (actually mom and dad got up super early, I got up semi early).

Poor Naomi was really dying to get into this bag of Doritoes.

This is my newest niece, Eponine. She's a sweetheart (actually she a guinea pig, really, but we don't talk about it).

I LOVE this dress I put Naomi in for Thanksgiving. It is white velvet and so cute.

Then after a delicious Thanksgiving lunch we loaded up and headed off to Jake's parents for dinner. We wanted to make a quick stop at our house to leave Red but our quick stop turned out to be not so quick when Red discovered a possum tied to our fence. We have no idea how it got there but luckily it was on our neighbor's side so Red couldn't get to it. We called around some places but couldn't get ahold of anybody so we left him there for the night (don't ask what happened to him after that).

Then there was dinner at Jake's parents. Naomi is not quite big enough to sit at the kids table but she wishes she was.

Naomi was entranced with this stuffed, singing bunny. A chick popped out of that egg it's holding and danced. It was funny.

On Friday, we had a fondue dinner at the Manthe's. I meant to take a picture before we started but I was too distracted by the melted chocolate so this "after" shot will have to suffice.

James's new fiance, Brianna, got her first taste of Manthe family craziness this weekend. We think she's a keeper and can't wait to have her as part of the family.

On Saturday, these little sweeties decorated the tree...

and these little sweeties played on the floor.
Naomi and Norah are starting to interact a little. They will make eye contact and wave and talk to each other. It's so fun to watch them together.
And that's about it for the weekend. I'm sad to see Thanksgiving go but super excited about Christmas. Only 28 days to go!

  1. Great post! It really was a fun weekend. Lots of yummy food and family. You forgot to mention in that last picture that Naomi can WALK around that toy (and Norah can just lean up against it!) :) Love those two together!

  2. You're so right about christmas vs. Thanksgiving! The only pressure there is at thanksgiving is in my pants buttons! (thanks, I'll be here all week. Don't forget to tip your waitress.) I love Naomi's rosy cheeks in that outdoors pic! It looks like you had a fun and fab thanksgiving! I love that there's a kids table at family dinners now! I have great "kids table" memories! :)
