I probably should have been keeping up with my blogging throughout this week but since blogging is not very high on my list of favorite things to do I guess one recap post will have to do.
Monday was Jake's birthday. We didn't do much by way of celebrating. I got him a few roasting stick for when we make fireplace smores and we had pizza hut. When I ask Jake's gift request I always get the same answer "The best gift you can give me would be to not spend any money..." I know, he kills me too.
Tuesday we left for Arkansas for Jake to help his dad out on a big job he's doing down there. Naomi did real well on the drive. She looked at books and played with some toys I brought and even took a little nap. She cracks me up when she slings her leg over the side of the carseat.
When we got there it was play time with the cousins. It is so fun that Naomi and Norah are old enough to play together now. I'm love that they are cooking together in this picture. One of the things we did there was take Naomi swimming for the first time. She loved it. We will be taking her swimming again sometime soon and I'll take some pictures. Promise. On Wednseday morning we got the news that Jake's grandpa was a lot sicker then we thought so we packed up and hurried home to see him one more time. All the family gathered together to send him home. We were so sad to see him go but knew we couldn't ask him to stay when he had something so much better waiting.
Friday we celebrated fathers day for Jake with a coconut cream pie. Naomi got him Rover Dangerfield apparently it's a movie they watched a lot when they were kids. Naomi was excited to help him open it.
Saturday we celebrated with my dad and saw my sister off with her new husband to their new apartment in Nebraska. Now both of my sister live up there. Who knows, maybe we'll make the move too sometime.
Sunday, Naomi and I stayed home from church due to her fever that started Saturday afternoon. She didn't have any other sympoms that I could tell so I don't really know what the deal was but she seems to be acting better now. After everyone else got home from church we went to Jake's dad's house to celebrate fathers day there and see Courtney, my soon to be SIL.
Phew! What a fun week! And the fun's not over yet. We are so excited to see Jake's brother, Josh, this week. He's flying in from the Philippines on Tuesday and will be here on furlough for about a year with his family. We can't wait to see them!

Move to Nebraska!!!! You really shouldn't tease because that would be awesome!(I would suffice for another trip up here, That was super fun!)
ReplyDeleteCute recap. Love the picture of Naomi sleeping in the car seat.
The picture of Naomi and Norah remind me of Amy and me :-) So glad she has a cousin her age!
