Thanksgiving started on Wednesday for us this year. Actually, the day before Thanksgiving is always my favorite part of the holiday. We usually go to my parents house and make pies, overnight salad, and anything else that can be put together early to save time the next day. I have no idea why I always look forward to it so much but I do. This year was especially fun because we also went to go see Frozen with some of my family members. Naomi was captivated by it (no surprise there) and Leah was really good too. She watched the beginning and then just fell asleep when she grew disinterested.
Thursday we got up and headed to my parents to help get lunch ready. My sister, Chrissie, surprised us by showing up even though we didn't think she would be able to make it. It was fun to have everyone together. This was our first Thanksgiving to use my parents new dining room. They both worked so hard to turn the old living room into a dining room and it looks great. Their new table (that they built themselves) easily seats 16. They are planning on LOTS more grandkids.
Friday was cookie making day at Nana's. The two littles got their own cookie making session. They are great little bakers. Friday night Naomi and Norah had a blast in the bath together (but they are getting a little old to post bath pictures, sorry) after that Sarah and Leah got a turn. After a few minutes of getting used to it, they had a great time splashing around. I see lots of fun playdates in their future.
Saturday we put up Nana's Christmas tree. This lucky Nana has TONS of little helpers which makes it a bit crazy, but it's a fun crazy. Please excuse that I have so many pictures of Naomi and Norah playing this or that together. I just can't get over how cute they are!
Last night I finished making the advent calendar I've been planning for a while now. It still needs a bow but there will be plenty of time for that. For now, it has all the important stuff. Each day has a little Christmas or service activity for us to do plus a peanut M&M for each of us. Leah is a big fan of M&Ms. Unfortunately, she doesn't understand that we only open one per day. This morning she spent a good hour reaching and whining for more. Poor girl, I know how she feels, one M&M is just not enough.

Love love love the advent calendar! It's really similar to mine, but I bought mine at Starbucks. It wasn't cheap, but I was still on my marathon high and not thinking too clearly!
ReplyDeleteI'd better not show all the cousin pics to my kids. They'll be so bummed
that they missed out on all the fun!
I love it all! Wednesday is my favorite part too and it was so fun this year.
