Winter wonderland

Last week we went to Bass Pro Shop to visit their winter wonderland. It is perfect for little kiddos. They have a great backdrop complete with mechanic elves and real reindeer (well, the real dead kind anyway), pictures with Santa, lots of toys out that you can try, a giant Christmas tree, fish, ducks, an elevator, and even a carousal. All for free. Plus, the kids love to look at all the stuffed animals they decorate the store with.

Can you tell Naomi is a little nervous to see Santa. She masked it well by pretending that Leah needed her help.

This is Naomi's best "I-don't-trust-this-guy" face.

But she didn't hesitate to tell him what she wanted for Christmas when he asked. A guitar, a fan (the fold out kind), and a sparkly dress. Always the same thing in the same order.

Did I mention they had grown-up toys too? I imagine for many this free experience turns quite costly.

Things are going great these days at home. Silas has started taking one nap so that leaves me with an hour all to myself each day. It makes things better for everyone. In other random news:

The weather was unseasonably warm for a few days and we played outside with no coats. It's much more fun that way.

For some strange reason Naomi likes plain celery. I act cool like "ya, lots of people like it that way. It's good" but in my head I'm cringing. That's just gross.

Leah is totally cute these days and totally knows it. She sits with her chin in her hand like this all the time. It make her seem so grown up.
