Birthday Boy

Silas turned one recently (well almost a month ago if I'm being honest) and we had a super fun M and M theme party for him. He loves M and M's, what one year old wouldn't, and has eaten more then his fair share thanks to his grandpa.

The girls were so, so excited for this party. They are the best little overbearing helicopter mini mommy's a brother could ever ask for. Poor guy. I make a pull string piñata for the fist time and will defiantly be doing that again. It was really pretty easy and the kids had a blast with it.

Jake and I got him this Tonka truck. In an effort for him to have some "manly toys." It was, shockingly, an even bigger hit then the piñata. All the kids took turns running each other into walls  pushing each other around.

I always love taking some cute pictures of my babies. I may be redoing the M and M bag event with a video camera instead, though. He just had a little payday throwing M and Ms and stuffing them in his mouth. Kind of makes up for his reaction when presented with birthday cake.

Here's a few recent clips of Silas. I think it is interesting to note that this is the third smash cake in a row that I have throw out basically untouched. My kids don't seem to prefer digging into mounds of cream cheese and powdered sugar and smearing handfuls into their hair. Whats with that? In Silas defense he wasn't really feeling well so that could have been the problem. Unfortunately for him he won't be getting another chance. The offer to make a gigantic cake mess is a one time thing around here.

While I'm loading video I thought I would do some new ones of Leah. Baby speech is the best! The second part of the clip she is singing a song from the Christmas program. She must have picked it up from Naomi and I singing it around the house. She's singing "we ain't never done it that way before."

  1. I cannot believe he cried when you gave him cake with frosting AND M&Ms! That kid cannot have gotten that from our side of the family! :-)
