Baby's day out

Eve's first two weeks have been fun yet uneventful. Because of the C-Section I haven't been able to drive so I have been at the mercy of anyone who will come by and see me. I will say that my friends and family have been absolutely amazing. I have had so, so many people drop by to cheer me up or bring me treats and meals. It's awesome. To everyone who has dropped by or taken the kids out or brought presents, Thank you so much! I don't know that I have ever felt so loved and supported.

Some of you may know that postpartum I turn into a serious emotional basket case and start crying about the dumbest things. Something as simple as an out of order sign on the Coke dispenser at Quick Trip can bring on an entire melt down. It's so embarrassing and it gets worse when I sit around the house by myself all day. Enter, my mom. Last week, to help my crazy baby blues, she drove me and ALL the kids to Target for a shopping trip and lunch at chick-fil-a. The kids started out all under control in a cart... but it went down hill from there.

I learned early in the week that walking on concrete absolutely kills me so I was even rockin' the electric wheelchair. Each of the kids got a chance to stand between my legs and drive which they thought they were cool stuff. Naomi even did some driving all by herself. How scary is that?!

The kids each picked out an outfit for Eve from my parents. Leah saw this blue one, knew she wanted it, and stuck by that. Naomi shopped and shopped and changed her mind 20 times before deciding on this super girl shirt and then she talked Silas into this little red dress that I absolutely love.

  1. What a fun outing! I have to laugh about the out-of-order meltdown, because I'm the same way after a baby is born!
