Movin' on up

Since New Years Day was on Friday this year, it worked out that Jake got a four day weekend. That meant we had some extra time to squeeze in some fun. Like a visit to Wonderscope and one to the (not so) new Steak and Shake in town that we have been meaning to visit. The kids loved that Steak and Shake had hats, crayons, and cars at the table. I even sneaked a picture of Jody trying on the hat! Bet you never thought you would see that.

Wonderscope

I say we squeezed in a little fun because most of the weekend we were packing, cleaning, painting, replacing, and fixing things in our house so it could be ready to sell. We are so thankful for my parents and their DIY skills. In fixing up their house they have learned how to do just about everything and it has been so, so helpful the past few weeks.

Jake has been wanting to move for a long, long time now. He actually claims to have never liked our house in the first place (which is a little dramatic, I think) And in a moment of weakness in late December I finally agreed. In a matter of days we met with a realtor and starting getting stuff lined up. We listed the house on January 4th and got an offer that night. The following weekend we went out with our realtor and loved the first house we saw. It was exactly what we were looking for in a house, a little more space, a ranch with an unfinished basement, a great school district, and lots of potential for updating and remodeling. Lord willing, we will close and move in just a few weeks. Yikes!

Oh, and here is a bonus picture of Eve all dressed up for church. She rarely makes it out of jammies these days, poor girl. Luckily, she looks like a doll no matter what she wears.
