Before I forget, I accidentally left this picture of Naomi with her new birthday goodies out of the last post.
And, of course, I have to share Eve getting her first peep. I get why she loves them so much but the question is why do I love them so much?! Aren''t they supposed to be for kids?
Anyway, on to the point. Naomi and Leah have been playing Upwards basketball and cheer this winter at our church. I will admit I was not looking forward to it at the beginning but it has turned out to be really fun for everyone.
We practice at the same time as several friends so while the kids run around and play us moms get a chance to talk. It's never long enough but it's always great regardless.

Games are on Saturday mornings and there is plenty of room for the kids to play a little, me to watch the games a little, and an awesome concession stand for snacking. It also helps that our games were back to back every single week so there was not a lot of dead time and there was always lots of family and friends around to visit with and help keep track of the kids for which I am so thankful. Naomi's teacher even came to the teacher appreciation game which thrilled Naomi to death.
Naomi's team was all kindergartners. It was so neat to see how far their game came in such a short time. I don't think there was a single unprompted dribble in the whole first game. We snuck Leah onto the cheerleading squad even though she was way too young because she really wanted to and my sister was the coach so she really couldn't say no. But it ended up turning out great. She was always super excited to cheer which made her all bouncy and cheerleader-like and all the older girls adored her and were super helpful and patient with her.
I tried to make a little highlight video but bear with me because the highlights are pretty few and far between. If you ask the kids, the highlights are the pregame introductions and the post game snacks. Go figure.

That was an AWESOME highlight video!!!
