Week 1

Ella and I got to spend 2 short nights in the hospital before they kicked us out and we headed home. Leah had a preschool screening that morning so Jake took her to that and then they picked out a going home outfit for Ella and brought it to the hospital to get us. Leah picked a mint shirt with sparkly elephants on it because it matched Ella's name. Thus making me wish I thought of that downside of the name before we actually used it. The poor girl will be associated with elephants her whole life. Oops.

On Monday after Ella was born there was a complete solar eclipse in our area. It was a BIG deal. Some nearby schools even canceled class to avoid the risk of being liable for kids looking at the sun and damaging their eyesight. Most, though, bought glasses for all the kids and sent them out to experience it. At Naomi's school the kids needed an adult from their family to go out and take a peek so Nana and Grandpa came to save the day so she could see it.

At home that day we didn't get much of a chance to notice the eclipse. Silas woke with a seriously swollen face so Leah, Eve, Ella, and I took him to the first dentist appointment available. Little did I know they would want him to stay and get his tooth pulled immediately. That was tramatic. Possibly more for me then Silas. My mom met us at home when we got there and Silas and I barely noticed the eclipse before we completely crashed.

My phone is filled with random awesome pictures like these lately. Everyone is so excited to hold, feed, and sit by Ella. She is going to be one spoiled baby for sure.
