Naomi's turning 1

Well, the time has arrived. I can't believe it but Naomi is one year old this Wednesday. Let me tell you a bit about my little sweetie. 

Naomi is turning into a bit of a picky eater these days. She won't eat any vegetables besides avocado and potato. Most things she puts into her mouth come right back out. She does love cheese, turkey, pasta. bread, fruit, and yogurt. One thing she loves to do is eat with a fork. Sometimes I will spear a piece of food for her and let her feed herself with it and she really gets a kick out of it. I hardly ever offer her a spoon anymore. She just plays with it and makes a royal mess. Anything that would require a spoon I just add a little liquid and let her drink it from a cup or straw. We've been working on not throwing food on the floor and she is starting to get the idea. About 3 of of 4 times she will hand her food to me when she's done instead of feeding it to Red. 

Naomi loves to waddle around the house and get into things. I'm teaching her to do the stairs on her belly but she can't do it alone yet. She's sleeping 9 to 9 at night and takes a 2 hour nap and a 1 hour nap during the day. She is not really a lover of the bottle and has started pushing it away more times then not. She loves drinking water and juice from a cup. I just offered her milk for the first time today in a cup and she seemed to like that too.

Naomi is in no way a snuggler and doesn't usually like to sit on laps at all but she is quite little lover. She is always walking around giving her toys hugs and kisses. It is adorable. If I'm sitting on the floor, she will stop and lean her head on my shoulder (which I perceive to be a hug). Today when I was cooking I looked over to see her trying to give Red a hug who was laying in his bed. By the time it was over Naomi was laying directly on top of him. I was laughing my head off. Despite a rough start, Naomi is starting to look lots more like me. I'm quite excited about it. Here is me at  about 1 year.
