So Blessed

We had our missions conference at church this week. It was a great time. Among other things, it really served to remind me how blessed I am and how much I take for granted. One of the missionaries was a medical missionary. He goes to countries that don't have available health care and holds clinics. His team gives out eye glasses, does dental work, and treats "everyday things" that we would see a doctor for as well as presenting them with the Good News of Jesus. He said this may be the only time in these people's lives that they see a doctor. Just to think of living in that situation makes me cry. I'm so, so thankful tonight for many things that I didn't even think twice about a few days ago.

While were talking about blessings, I am so excited to announce that we have another little big blessing on the way. I'm about 12 weeks along now so she (or maybe he) will arrive late in September. I'm feeling fine for the most part as long as I've eaten within the hour and have defiantly entered the chubby stage. I shared the news with a few folks at church this weekend and got some "I was wondering" reactions. Thanks, guys (said with sarcasm).

With Naomi, I had very few cravings. I actually thought the craving thing was something pregnant people made up to get what they wanted. Hehe, now I know different. I've been craving EVERYTHING salty. Chips, pickles, even canned soup. It is so crazy, like I physically HAVE to have it. One day I ate Campbell's tomato soup for all three meals. So weird, I know.

It's looking like our little one is going several playmates her own age, too, thanks to Brandy and Heidi. We're looking forward to lots of fun times around here. I tried without success to get some shots of Naomi with this sign. But here's one of her with Bo. These two are very serious about their upcoming new roles.

  1. I'm craving sweet things! I just had some snickerdoodles for breakfast (along with toast and eggs). :) I wanted sweet stuff with Bo but not until the last month or so. I may be in trouble if I eat sweets the whole time!
