Welcoming Leah

We are just having the most fun ever today with our new little Leah Jennifer. She was born early yesterday so we had a good long day to visit and recover and we get another one today. What a blessing. In case you haven't heard the story, here's how it went:

My contractions started on Monday evening but even though they were uncomfortable, they were so very far apart, I didn't plan on them staying long. By 1am they were pretty consistently about 10 minutes apart. I slept for a few hours trying to wait for them to be five minutes apart but they never got any closer together. At about 6am I decided to get up since I couldn't sleep and my contractions quickly picked up. I woke up Jake and called my mom about 6:30 and we started getting ready to head out. I could not believe how quickly my contractions started coming when I was trying to get everything packed up. We soon decided we didn't have time to wait for my mom to meet us at home so we grabbed Naomi out of bed and took her with us.

By 7:30 I was checked into the hospital and told I was at about 7cm. My contractions were coming fast and they were trying to get my IV started so I could get an epidural but they were having trouble getting it in. By the time they put the epidural in I was feeling ready to push. I wanted to wait a few minuted for the epidural to start working but Leah wasn't waiting. At 9:03 she was here.  She was officially 7 lbs 5oz and 19 inches long. She picked up nursing right away and seems to be a good little sleeper. We are in love!

 Aunt Becky sent gifts for Naomi to open after Leah was born. She was loving all her new toys! 

 Here's cool kid Naomi with her new sunglasses and cell phone. The phone says "hola" so now that's Naomi's new word. Jake loves that she speaks Spanish (hehe not really).
