Avoiding that awkward moment

In order to avoid that awkward post where I post pictures of my third child's birth without letting everyone know that he was coming I guess I should officially announce on here that I'm expecting. This was our first time to get pregnant "unassisted" (if you will) and it was amazingly fun and exciting. I've prayed about becoming pregnant naturally for a long time now and though I maybe wouldn't have picked this exact timing, I am so so thankful and excited all the same. On Friday went in and got a sonogram and found out it is a boy! I always feel like it takes a while for the gender information to sink in for me and today was no different. After we had left the office and were eating lunch (at The Dog Pound- the best hot dog place ever) it finally occurred to me that we need to start arguing over baby boy names. Oh, joy.
Naomi really wanted another sister and still remains unconvinced that we are having a boy. I'm sure when she  figures out that a baby boy will look basically the same as her little cousins, Piper and Lylah, who she LOVES, she will be fine with it.

Also this week we painted with pudding and marshmallows,

and visited the pet store (just for fun).

I've been practicing my braiding at night while Naomi watches LIttle Mermaid or Brave. She is really a great little model as long as she gets to pick something to watch and I am so excited at how I'm improving. This night I was actually disappointed that there was no one to see it but myself.

Leah is 11 months old now and getting around great. She cries WAY less then she used to, loves to eat vegetables, takes one good afternoon nap, wants everything that Naomi gets, and is still looks as bald as the day she was born.

This last bit of information may or may not be exciting to you but Naomi is super excited that she can finally put up two fingers. She's been trying it for several months now but always needed help until now. Apparently it's harder then you think.

  2. Your braiding looks fab! Yeah, the best time to do their hair is when they are zoned out. Then they don't even complain about how hard you're pulling cause they don't even notice. :)

    Love that baby boy bump!
