My, my, how time flies when you have three kids! I can't believe Silas is 9 days old and I haven't even posted about his birth. I have so much to catch you up on so listen fast and check for updates often.
Last week on Monday (January 6th) I went in for my regular check and the doctor said I was dilated to a 4. I asked her to strip my membranes which is something she has done that helped bring on labor for my other kids so I was pretty hopeful that it would work for me this time too. On the way home we made one last trip to the grocery store and headed home for nap. After having occasional contractions most of the afternoon they started about every ten minutes around 6:00. My parents came over about then to help with packing up and getting dinner for the kids. I had Jake come home from work about 7. Jennifer came and took the girls to her house about 8 and we were at the hospital by 9. After waiting the required hour to make sure I was in real labor I was TOTALLY ready for an epidural. Unfortunately, they had trouble getting an IV in again but they did finally get in and my epidural had me feeling great by about midnight. I started pushing about 12:30 and we had him 15 minutes later.
Somehow, because we had him so early in the morning, we got to spend almost 60 hours in the hospital. It was a great time of visiting and showing off our new Mr. Silas Charles Manthe. Thank you to everyone who called or came in to see us!
Too happy for words so...YAY!! Congratulations!
