Girls in curls

Naomi and Leah slept on sponge rollers for the first time last weekend. Naomi has been asking and asking for me to curl her hair and was so excited when we finally found the time. Naomi's turned out great and the curls stayed in the whole day. Leah's was a little too short still so most of the curlers in the back fell out in the night but she still had some pretty cute little curls around her face for the day. Jake cracked me up with his disbelief that people actually sleep with their hair like that. He thought we all had lost our mind.

Recently we had a big storm blow through the area and leave us with a BUNCH of branches down and since Jake and I love smores we rewarded our long day of picking up and cutting branches with a campfire. My little mommy heart let out a sob when I saw the kids all standing watching Jake mow and noticed Naomi standing right on the ground causally looking over. I remember like it was yesterday her standing on the rail and peeking over like Silas is doing. When did she get so big?! 

Though Silas was totally into the fire, he wasn't much into smores yet. He passed up a smore for a uncooked marshmallow and chocolate bar.

Leah only had a few bites of more which didn't surprise us because she is not really a fan of sweets in general. But I do think she helped herself to several uncooked marshmallows.

Naomi is finally old enough to enjoy the marshmallow cooking process and spent a lot of time roasting marshmallows to perfection with Jake after Leah and Silas and I headed for the swingset.
