Leah's Birthday

I know one sweet little girl who turned 4 this weekend. This birthday was especially fun because it was the first one that she knew exactly what she wanted. She specifically requested Sky and Everest, the Paw Patrol lady pups to adorn her cake.

She also really, really wanted a piƱata. She helped me make it and we had a blast. And, honestly, Jake and I had a blast buying stuff to fill it too. I have come to accept the fact that we love buying birthday stuff as much as the kids love getting it.

To me, an awesome birthday present is something fun that can be used all up and bought again next year. So, I picked out some fun bath stuff and art stuff. To Jake, an awesome birthday present is a toy (the bigger the better) that they can have it in the toy box to remind them of their birthday all year. So he picked out a shopkins candy shop. Does anyone else share my opinion on this?

Eve snuck some bites of cake.
Naomi skipped having a piece of caked and just licked the blue frosting off of the bowl we frosted to serve as a second layer.  She is a frosting fanatic.

  1. Happy Birthday Leah! I love when people buy our kids use-up-able stuff for their birthday, but I LOVE buying fun presents. I want Ava to open her presents right now! I don't want to wait until Friday!
