Upon arrival at the pumpkin patch we headed straight for the live animals. They had the cutest little piglets and this angry turkey who seemed to want to eat Leah.
Next, Leah led the way through the hay maze. Naomi wouldn't have done it at all if Leah hadn't charged right in. Leah is often the first to try things these days. She is way more daring the Naomi has ever been.
Then Jake helped the girls to the top of the haystack.
After that we headed to the corn maze. The girls both really loved it. And Jake and I did too really. It was relaxing to meander along behind the kids and know they were both headed in the same direction. A few minutes into the corn maze Naomi announced she had to take a leak. What a nightmare. Luckily no one was around so I could just have her go right there in the corn...Just kidding. We told her she had to hold it till we got to the (
shudder) Johnny on the spot. She did great. Crisis averted.
After the corn maze we hopped a hayride out to the pumpkin field.
We picked pumpkin after pumpkin before finally deciding on the perfect one. It's right there by Jakes feet if you'd like to imagine it. I really wish I had some pictures of the pumpkin picking part. Naomi was really into it. Alas, it did not occur to me to take pictures of the pumpkins at the pumpkin patch. Go figure.

In other news, Leah had her first experience with paint this week (actually colored sweetened condensed milk). It didn't take her long to figure out that she liked the taste but she eventually got around to some painting also.
You are so creative and such a great mama! Those girls (and boy) are blessed in a big way! :)
ReplyDeleteAh. That is so fun! Will you be carving the pumpkin? I'm with Leah's first instinct. Good sweetened condensed milk should not be wasted on paper or tub walls. It should definitely be eaten. Naomi's painting appears to be coming along nicely. She looks like she is almost keeping it in the lines! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe picture of you, Leah and the turkey reminds me of the goat at Zimmerman's farm! I laughed out loud...still very cute though. The family picture is very sweet!
ReplyDeleteOk. So your picture of the turkey and talking about it wanting to eat Leah reminds me of Grandma's turkey growing up. Do you remember how we used to hide in the van from it because it was so mean?!?!? It used to chase dad around!
