Bubble Run

This weekend my sister took the girls to a 5K at the speedway near us. Jake and I went along to watch and cheer them on. The day started out overcast which kept the temperature down a little but by the end it was real-ly hot. There were 5 bubble stations with all different colors of bubble foam. Here they are crossing the starting line. There were so many people there they didn't actually cross the starting line for 30 minutes after the start (and they were toward the front!). I think there was something like 1500 people running. It was crazy.

Silas stayed with us and played in the bubbles while we waited for them to finish. At first he was a little nervous with the foam that threatened to overtake him but he eventually warmed up.

The girls shirts were white at the beginning but by the end they were tie-dyed with all the bubble colors. I thought the colors looked really neat that way, I almost wish the color didn't wash right out. Leah was completely wiped out by the morning but Naomi would've done it all again. Next time I think she will not be allowed to ride in the stroller...

Also, lately, we have been having a lot of cousinly fun with the Manthes. Joey, Kylah, and Norah spent the week at Jennifer's house and we had all kinds of fun including crafts, movies, Skyjump, McDonalds, and lots and lots of playtime.

Silas' favorite cousin is Sarah. They are just the cutest two little silent partners. Whenever we are together with them these two will just sit together and play without saying a single word to each other. One time, on our deck, they played completely silently with a tub of water for probably an hour.

And last but not least I have a video of Silas first word and favorite game. He seems to have found his voice the last week or so and is actually showing some interest in talking. So excited for him to be entering my favorite stage of babyhood.
