8 months

It seems like a LOT has happened in the last four weeks. For some reason the difference between 6 to 7 months seemed a lot smaller then the difference from 7 to 8. Naomi now has 6 teeth and I'm hoping thats all she gets for a long while. Actually, I don't think I would mind if she never got any more at all. She tries to crawl some but hasn't really gotten anywhere yet. She mostly seems to be content with rolling around with a smidge of army crawl thrown in when something is just out of reach.

Jake bought Naomi the Lion King (his favorite Disney movie) and they watched it this week. Actually, Naomi watched the first few minutes and then went to bed and Jake and I finished it without her. She doesn't get to watch cartoons much yet so she was pretty interested for a few minutes anyway.

We also moved Naomi into a big car seat. That carrier car seat was getting too darn heavy and we never took it out of the car so we decided to go ahead and make the switch.

Naomi's favorite toy these days is this rubber scraper. I have no idea why but when I drop several toys in front of her, she'll almost always reach for it first. Close second favorites include a silicone funnel, her o-ball, and a pacifier. She won't suck on the pacifier but she grabbed Norah's when we were visiting Joe and seemed to like playing with it so I got some out for her when we got home.

And it's a sad day but I think it is finally time to retire this shirt. Below is a picture of the first time she wore it. Yep, that's right, we stole it from the hospital (actually I was hoping you got one complimentary one but I didn't really ask so I'm not sure). It was so big on her them but it's skin tight now. It has been the best little undershirt/pj's/any-other-time shirt. I am truly sad to see it go. On a similar note, she has also officially outgrown her small sleep sack and the small setting on her diapers.

Wow, looking at this hospital picture makes me a little teary-eyed. I think that means it's past time for bed. Night!

  1. Aw, it's so sweet to see how much they grow and change and develop that first year! The newborn to 8months t-shirt pics are great! My sister in law took pics every month of her baby with the same stuffed animal to show his growth. I always wanted to do it too, but 4 kids later, I still haven't.... :)

  3. How Precious! She is going to be mommy's little helper in the kitchen, for sure! She will taste test everything mommy makes, especially the sweet stuff :-)

She looks like such a big girl in her car seat! Aunt Chrissie is so proud of her for graduating out of the carrier seat!

I saw the Lion King in 3D at the beginning of the month. That is such a good movie :-) I'm sure it will become her favorite and until then you and Jake will get to watch it so many times you will get sick of it :-)
